Viva La Mexico! Hello readers and welcome to week two of our foods of the world trip. This week we were going to take a trip down to spicy Mexico. Mexico has a very rich and thick culture due to the long history of the area. Mexican culture goes all the way back to the Maya which was about 2000B.C. Not to mention that Mexico uses aspects of other cultures around it; such as, the many countries of South America, Spain, and the good old U.S.A. For my first Dish of Mexico I decided to make a chicken quesadilla. It was delicious. First thing you have to do is, you have to make the chicken. The easiest way to do this would probably be to cut the chicken into small pieces and cook it in a skillet. Then you sauté the chicken in a little water and a packet of taco seasoning. After that you get a tortilla, some non-stick cooking spray, and some shredded cheese. With a new skillet set at low heat, spray the pan with a thin coat of non-stick spray. Then place your tortilla in the pan. Lay down a nice layer of the cheese on one side of the tortilla. Next depending on how much meat you want, place the chicken on the cheese on the tortilla. After that you need to sprinkle more cheese on top of the chicken. Don’t be shy I find the more cheese the better! Finally fold the empty side of the tortilla over. After the bottom of the one half is slightly browned you flip the quesadilla. After that side is browned you will have made yourself a gorgeous quesadilla. Keep reading guys! Next I’m feeling… Chicken nachos.
This video shows how you can put anything you want in your quesadilla. Check out these goofy british guys.
I am a huge fan of Mexican food! Your chicken quesadilla looks delicious, which is my one of my favorite Mexican foods. Every time I wan Mexican food I always have to go out to a restaurant because my mom does not know how to cook it and my dad is the only other one who likes Mexican food. But it seems pretty easy to cook, so I think I will have my mom buy the ingredients so I can try to make it. But, I am pretty sure the chicken quesadilla will not turn out as good as yours. I will let you know how my chicken quesadilla cooking goes!
ReplyDeleteThat Quesadilla looks very delicious. Often times it’s late at night and I’m thinking Mexican but it’s too late to go out. This looks like something I could easily make no matter what state I happened to be in. I also love the fact that I could add a lot of cheese because I love cheese. I have tried to make a Quesadilla before but I’ve always burned the cheese, or undercooked the chicken but now that I’ve learned a better way of cooking it it appears as though I’ll be satisfying my late night cravings. I’m looking forward to learning about more easy to cook Mexican foods.
ReplyDeleteSounds good, I already make something simular, although probably not as easy as yours and my family loves it served with salsa and sour cream! What kind of chicken do you use? I use boneless skinless chicken breast and I bake it in olive oil and water, then cut it up and fry it in olive oil and seasoning with mushrooms and onions! Thanks for sharing, Im hungry now! Keep the recipes coming!
